Wait a few more weeks to see what the showcase brings. I went from using iPhones for years to an S8 last year and regretted it. The S9 looks like a bit of a flop tbh compared to the previous S8 anyway.

Why flop ?

Don't get me wrong, it's slightly faster and the camera is marginally better. If I was really into the Android ecosystem and didn't want to move to an iPhone then it wouldn't be enough to make me want to upgrade from the S8.

You're paying an awful lot of money for a brand new device that is marginally better than the previous years model which can be picked up brand-new for a fraction of the price of the S9.

I never really got used to using an Android, it just doesn't feel as slick and well polished as iOS. Each to their own, but I would wait to see what the 2018 iPhone brings before deciding to go down the iOS vs Android route.

I'm torn between new X2 and Samsung S9? Which is better?

Your comparison is actually rather simplistic. It’s not about the hardware experience, as Smart Phone manufacturers make great hardware, it’s about which operating platform do you prefer, iOS or android? It’s that simple. With iOS, you can at least expect four years of iOS support, or android is only around two, excellent customer service with Apple and the security encryption with Apple is the best in the tech industry with 3D Facial mapping technology.

Of course people will recommend the iphone on this website :)

What I like about Apple is that: (1) most users tend to have the latest iOS version; (2) Apple releases updates for older hardware for more years than the competition.

For example, I had Samsung S3 and iphone 4s. Samsung was released in 2012, and the last update is Android 4.3 released in the end of 2013. While iphone was released in 2011, and the latest update is from 2016. So, software updates for 5 years vs 1-2.
