My 2009 iMac suddenly died, and it was time for my to buy a refurbished 2018 MBA. I use the Mac for personal use only. I'm looking at several different hubs:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQIATM8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A21KAAY3K2DV83&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/CharJenPro-P...&linkId=27e1538c89c8556715ec154a15959052&th=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07463TLG4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A21KAAY3K2DV83&psc=1

Anyone have experience with any of these, or can you recommend another? Thanks for any input.

I use this at the office and it works great with my 2018 MB Air and Ultrawide LG.

Plugable

Hmmmm..... the Satechi has some terrible 1 and 2 star reviews. And the Plugable is bigger and more $ than I was hoping for. I'll keep searching.

Bought this with my recent upgrade:

I already have a USB SD card reader, so, the various SD card readers was not important. And not plugging the Mac into a display as yet, so, don't need an output for that. Made for a cheap entry point for the occasional time I need to sling multiple external HDDs and use the other USB-C port for my external SSD.

Most of the time, I'm just plugging in power to one port, the other for occasional plug in of the SSD or one of my TimeMachine drives (don't do it every day, as not making many critical changes that need to save now, just in case).

I use the precursors to these first two with my 2017 MacBookPro (which has 4 TB3 ports, 2 per side), and am happy so far:

https://www.caldigit.com/ts3-plus (Mine is the precursor to the PLUS - it has 2 e-SATA ports as well.

Plus this SONNET ECHO15+- a TB2 dock (through a TB3-TB2 adaptor from Apple) that has 2 eSATA ports and a Firewire port, for older hard drives, plus space for 2-3internal drives (a 3.5 inch or two 2.5s, plus a Blu-ray burner or another 2.5 drive/SSD, plus USB3, Ethernet, Audio, etc. Not sure if it's still available though:

The HYPERDRIVE above is great for travel, the other two stay on my desk to enable 2 external monitors and a lot of external drives and multiple other peripherals (4 printers, 3 scanners, etc). The CAL-DIGIT is also fairly portable though, and could travel if needed. The SONNET definitely stays put.

My iPhone 5s (like the small size) takes better pictures than my old digital camera so I hardly use the latter. I like the option of connecting to an ethernet cable even though I have great wifi with FIOS. so I'm thinking of going with this:

https://www.amazon.com/CharJenPro-C...5SJ8/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1

Basically, I need to connect my external hard drive, my Canon scanner, and occasionally my digital camera (not a SD card), and my phone to sync.

[doublepost=1557031744][/doublepost]Hmmm. I never heard of "CharJenPro". Price is suspiciously low to me - I'm dubious of the quality.
Hyperdrive makes an assortment of versions with different ports - one probably also has the ethernet you want. My Sonnet and Cal-Digit both have ethernet, so I didn't need on my Hyperdrive (the 7+2).

I first heard of CharJenPro watching this youtube video:
and then searched around. I'm not sure yet what to do but will check out those other ones. I know there are many fake reviews on Amazon, but I can't discount them all.

I like that fact there are no 1 star reviews on amazon. I have not seen that with other hubs. I too have been looking for a while for a hub.

I've been thinking of one of the HyperDrives that attach directly to the side of the laptop when I get my new MBP at work later this year. You still have 2 more TB-3 ports on the other side of the laptop for additional use. But for the MBA, you only get the two TB-3 ports on one side. One of the ones that has a pigtail to connect to the laptop would leave the second port free for use.
