Maybe a stupid question but there you go , if so I apologise in advance .

Which would be faster my aging iMac Intel Core Duo 2.16, or one of the new bread of Mac Minis .. primarily for photoshop and lightroom. Im trying to weigh up replacing the hard rive on the old imac see how long it lasts or just biting the bullet and buying a mac mini ... I don't like the new glossy screen imacs as I would in mainly b&w images and way to reflective

many thanks simon

I wonder if the new server's integrated graphics are faster than the old iMac's dedicated card....

I have a 2.66GHz iMac from 2008, and a Mac Mini 2011. The Mac Mini is a lot faster at everything.

you probably already know geek bench, the benchmark tool lot's of people uses. well that's only interesting if you can compare ... so that's why the benchmark scores are posted to their site.

http://www.primatelabs.ca/geekbench/mac-benchmarks/

there you can see the differences between most of the apple computers.

for graphic card, this doesn't show you a good impression, maybe cinebench is your go to benchmark tool.
But since graphic card is pretty much only a big difference for gaming...

I came from a iMac core 2 duo 2,4Ghz, and saw a base mac mini i5 2,3Ghz almost doubled the score. so I sold my iMac to buy a mini. and it really is better!
