Well i have a family plan in tmobile. My phone's 24 months is over so i can switch to att and get the iphone 3gs. Would it be cheaper i just went to att with an individual plan on the cheapest plan with no texts? or would it be cheaper if me and my dad went together on a family plan with him getting a normal phone with no data plan and me getting the iphone. which would end up cheaper in the end?

i dont talk too much. im mostly going to use the iphone for the internet because im not at home too use my laptop as much anymore.

yea thats good. so is that family plan cheaper then paying for a phone on tmobile and a phone for att?

Well I just investigated a bit. BTW, the cheapest AT&T Family was not 700Min, it was 550 minutes Mind you these are the cheapest:

T-Mobile Individual Plan - 500 Anytime per Month @ $29.99
AT&T iPhone Plan No Text - $69.99

Total: $99.98 + tax

AT&T Family Plan with iPhone Data for 1 line and no texts:

$89.99 ($59.99 Minutes in 2 lines + $30 Data for iPhone) + Tax

Like, I said, cheaper to go all out with AT&T.

Don't forget you would then have mobile to mobile.
My family of three is on the 700 plan me, mom, dad and we don't talk much at all and have over 2,000 rollover min so when we added my two cousins who like to talk a lot those rollover helped us a lot we are now down to about 600 rollover so you two should be fine
