Hi guys! I tend to keep an eye out on the nicer cameras out there, and follow the reviews for more expensive P&S cameras, as well as developments in DSLR land.

But, my mom decided today she wanted a new camera. Nothing fancy, but of course, I want her to get something decent. Typically, she just borrows me or my sister's Sony cameras; and considering their upper-tier Sony models, she has gotten a bit spoiled. Especially since she doesn't want to spend much more than a hundred bucks.

I know... it's not gonna buy anything great. But is there one camera in particular you could recommend, that doesn't pass, say, the $130 mark?

And, if she did drop $200, would she get a MUCH, MUCH better camera?

Thanks, guys!

I have the the Canon SD790 IS. Great camera, purchased for about $130 in December at Costco. It tied for 1st in DPReview's Holiday '08 Ultra Compact Camera Test so that a plus in it's favor. Here are some pictures I've taken with it. Click for full size. The one at Fogo de Chao was in really low light with no flash.
