I was wondering if those users who were experiences the "whine" have received their machines fixed from apple?

I sent in mine last week (before the announcement) and came back the same way!! I re-sent it yesterday, hoping this will be the last time I send it.

Update anyone?

are you talking about macbooks? if you are, from users' experiences here, it seems that those that can hear the whine, hear it on ALL macbooks, and there's a bit of a dispute over whether or not those that claim they don't have the whine, are actually just not hearing it.

your experience might be worth posting, since you have obviously heard the whine on some macbooks. i think it might be a good assumption that if you get one that you CAN'T hear it on, there may be hope! :p

Just got my MBP back, they replaced the logic board. The CPU whine is reduced but I can still hear a difference between Photo Booth on/off. And they still have 1.83 logic boards to put in :(.
The funny thing is, today the repair guy told me the display inverter whine is "within spec", and all of them whine. I don't believe him and will call Apple care tomorrow.

You sent it directly to apple or went through the apple store?

I don't care if I have to call them 30 times and send it 31 times, this will get correctly!

I had to take it to Dataquest (Apple retailer). In Switzerland we can't sent it in and there are no Apple stores. Its a 50 km ride, so I'd hate having to try it that often :)
