Hi Guys. I searched but I wanted to make my own thread. :p My MB's power adapter is a bit whiny - it has a high pitched whine when it gets hot. (I mean it gets HOT as in you can't hold it for more than 10 seconds.) My phone support expired and I'm wondering whether it is worth it to take it into the Apple Store as it will probably be noisy and I doubt they will be able to hear it.

Thanks

my old pb adapter whined too, especially after i put the computer to sleep. my new mbp adapter has the same problem.

neither of them got incredibly hot however, only warm - regardless of how long ive left the computer on.

if your adapter is getting really hot, id take it in to get it looked at!

Yeah Im having the same problem. Mine has bit of a whine only when up to your ear. But I just noticed that this thing is getting freaking hot. I just got my MB 2.16 white so Im going to call and listen to them say "yes its suppose to be able to boil water" but they better replace it.

YOU CAN STILL CALL APPLE ABOUT HARDWARE ISSUES! Apple Phone Support is only for SOFTWARE RELATED. So if in the first 90 days the Phone support allow you to call them about dumb things like, "How do I install a application?" After that only hardware issues is allowed to be called in without being charged. So call Apple :)
