OK so I've been putting off replacing my iMac because until now it's never really seemed worth the cost of the upgrade seeing as, other than it being shiny and having a bigger screen, it was still "only" a C2D based machine.

I figured I'd wait until it was i3/i5/i7 across the whole range then I'd make my mind up, and now it is, so I need to.

Being blunt I don't really use the machine for much other than web browsing and music/video so in terms of "doing the job" any of them are overkill, however I've found since I switched to Mac I do tend to keep my machines longer so I want to buy something that will last and I like my machines to feel snappy even if it is just web pages.

I guess what I'm trying to work out is the "sweetspot" in terms of price/performance/longevity?

Off to do some reading but in the meantime any advice appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
