Ok,

Yesterday I came on here and said that my bro got an iMac that some lady was throwing out at the dump a 24" imac. I plug it in and all I get is the white light in front of it constantly on. The screen on it has obvious physical damage done to it and you can see a crack on the LCD itself. I looked this up and found that if the LED is constant on it's a "Black screen, power LED on - POST or BootROM failure".

Is there a remedy for this thing or should I just take all the parts out of it and sell it as scrap on ebay?

Obviously, if it even turns on, it can't be complete junk. If you want to take a risk, and attempt to fix it, you might want to take it to an apple store and see how much it would take to fix it. If it needs a new logic board, it's a no go. If you need to re-install Leopard, you've got an imac for $129! If you do fix it, post about it, I know I'd love to hear how you did it, or at the least what happens.

Well I looked up the Applecare info on it, and it has Applecare on it until 02/2010. I wonder if they would fix it no cost, but it has sings of physical damage on it so I wonder what they would say.
