I had some bad Mac Mini Logic boards so I was testing the CPU's to make sure they still worked.

I came across a 1.66ghz Mini, I poped that into the white iMac and she reported for duty. I know you can upgrade to faster cpu's but it is interesting that you can run a slower cpu. I guess you could even run a 1.5 solo if you wanted too. :eek:

If it uses the same socket, its pretty much guaranteed to work, so if the 1.5 solo has the same socket, then itll work easy.
 
It is such a nice design. I really wish they had not moved to glued/soldered cpu connections. They have basically crippled the boards upgrade ability.
