i try to wash my hands all the time to keep it from getting dirty!!...but its not working..whats the best thing to clean it with? the area is starting to get dirty....soap and water didnt seem to work

Christ people.

Go to the grocery store.

Get a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Use just a little bit™ of water (and I mean a little bit) and lightly use the sponge to remove the offending dirt. Make sure you do not press too hard and get water under the trackpad.

I've been told that this is what they use in the Apple stores to clean the display
units at the end of the day.

Yeah - I did it alot and my trackpad on my iBook didn't work for two days.

Scared the hell outta me. :eek: :eek: :rolleyes:
