So I bought an 8GB black 4th generation iPod Nano off of eBay for $30. All it said was for parts or not working. So as much as I knew about it, it coulda been run over by a car. I got it in the mail today. It's in absolutely perfect condition.

But I tried turning it on and was welcomed with a lovely white screen and two beeps. Very common problem. And holding down the center button and menu button usually work for this problem. But it isn't on this one. I have restored it and tried restarting it multiple times. But always get greeted by the white screen and two beeps.

It does appear as to have been opened as the top and bottom plastic pieces are a bit loose. From what I've read online do I need a new screen? Or is there anything else I can try?

Thank you.

You need a new screen

sounds like the original screen died and these people tried replacing it but replaced it wrong. So either A. this screen is fine but needs to be fixed properly or B. you need a new screen.
