White Screen When Playing HD Movie

My ATV was working fine until a couple of weeks ago when I downloaded The Golden Compass. I usually download on Friday and watch on Saturday (HD takes so long to download). Anyway I tried to watch it and all I got was a white screen - no audio, no video. However I could jump to the chapters and the chapter name appeared at the bottom of the screen (but no progress bar).
I lodged a problem with iTunes and they credited my account.
Yesterday I downloaded The Bank Job (great new British movie) and the same problem occurred. This time I unplugged the ATV and then plugged it back in and voila - it worked.
Anyone else had this problem? Is my ATV on the blink?

Yes I had this exact same problem and restarting the Apple TV is what Apple told me to do and I fixed it. I actually restarted it using the remote control (hold down minus (-) and menu and it will seem to reboot, ask you if you want to restart, restore and diagnostics, and you will have to choose the language again and whatnot, but that did the trick.

For me, it did. The problem has not occurred again.

I've had this happen as well. I tried restarting it with the remote, didn't work for me, i had to physically pull the plug ( since apple doesn't see fit to include and on/off button ). That fixed the issue that time, but i have had it reoccur since then, with the same method for fixing it required.
