No, its not a thread about Eyelikeart....

Here's a pic I took yesterday - can anyone guess what it is?

I'm guessing it's one of two things.
1. a lizzard,
2. your wife having found out you still haven't upgraded her iMac's RAM.

Or maybe it's a bird...

Neither 1, 2 or bird. My wife hasn't noticed any issues with the iMac with only 512 Megs of RAM - she's not a power user and she was coming from a Compaq Laptop that was 4-5 years old. Anything would be faster :D

Its not a frog :D

I was blown away by seeing the thing close up, I hadn't expected the eyes to be so interesting.

Here's the whole head - pretty obvious now. A neighbor found her - probably on her way to lay some eggs...

Anyone else got some close ups that might not give away the subject?

ok, how about a far off picture

name the make and model of the guitar on my avatar

the make is fairly easy for any guitar players

the model is a little harder to make out

the hard part is to name the company's four digit designation for this model

The jpegging of that image detracts from the image - I'll need a better quality one to make a guess...

We used to have a tv-show, 'micro-maxi' i think it was called (way before my time), here in Belgium. The goal was to guess what was on a picture either showing a real small version, a microscopic detail (or anything in between) of the object in question.
It got discontinued very fast, even before the season ended i think i heard.
Good luck with this thread :p ;) :D

But that was one cool eye indeed.

Is it this? Great band BTW & lovely guitars - but I'll stick with my mine :D

yes and no

it is the guitar the reverend is playing in the picture with the single coil gretsch pickups, but not the one in the publicity photo with the tv jones humbuckers

the single coil gretsch pickup has less gain and is used on some gretsch guitars and most gretsch electromatic guitars

the tv jones humbucker is the choice of brian setzer and has some serious firepower and while it's the ultimate rockabilly pickup, the tv jones humbucker can even be used for hard rock

your guitar, while a lot different than the nashville gretsch, is a great instrument in its own right and certainly a collector's piece since they only made that model for one year

i had a les paul custom, but it was a 1980 cherry sunburst and was never a collector's piece in any way...but a 1968 les paul custom, once overlooked, is now a true collector's piece

the 1950s les paul customs, perhaps the best years of that model, are far too expensive for most people to afford

Glad that you cleared my first idea on eyelikeart.

I would have thought an owl, till you said that its not a bird. The only other thing that comes to mind is a cat.
