Oh goodness, what don't I use Siri for? I ask her to add and subtract for me because, even though I used to get good grades even in Calculus class, I'm at that stage in life it takes me forever to do calculations in my head.
I also sometimes have her spell words for me. I use her to set timers and alarms. I ask her how old various famous people are when we all get to watching some old movie and wonder how old the actor or actress is now.
When I was driving to pick up my kid from school I heard the DJ dedicate a set of songs to celebrate the life of Prince. I was shocked and asked Siri if singer Prince is dead and she pulled up articles for me about his death that I peered at when I reached the red light. And that's how I found out about Prince's death. My husband found out when the CNN app fed a text headline to his Apple Watch. I also have an Apple Watch but don't like news notices so I turned that feature off. I regretted my decision for that particular instance.
When I'm grocery shopping and trying to come up with a menu plan that can incorporate particular items of meat or produce that are on sale I ask Siri to pull up various recipes so I can purchase the necessary ingredients to go along with the big sale item.
When we get various stings, insect bites, ticks, and other encounters with bugs I ask Siri to pull up pictures and information.
I sometimes ask her for the time when I don't have my Apple Watch on me. Though yesterday when I was driving and asked her for the time she gave me this "put upon" tone and instead of telling me the time she pulled up my clock display instead. Which was useless to me while driving. I was surprised and a bit ticked off by that. I'm not sure what that was all about. Sometimes it seems they put in odd bits of AI personality. Or perhaps something went awry in the processing of my request.
When traffic blockages happen I ask Siri for help taking me home another way, as I'm terrible with directions and can't remember routes unless I travel them routinely.
I ask her to play my music playlists. I've learned to name them so she doesn't get flummoxed and pull up random songs from Apple Music instead.
It helps I have a clear moderately pitched feminine voice that I can make fairly lacking in any accent, though my normal speaking voice carries a faint southern US accent. I mention this because I've noticed a lot of people, especially men, can't get Siri to work as well and as consistently for them as I can and my daughter who has a similar tone and manner of speaking can.
I did used to have Siri set to the British male voice but I found that affected the NFL Football score retrieval.
