I love the quick reply and quick compose options biteSMS gives, but not the app itself. To me it's buggy, slow, and I don't really like the look of it. So I just put it in my jailbreak folder and act like it doesn't exist. Anybody else share the same opinion? If so, I do have a couple question. Is there was a way I could get my badges back on the Apple Messages app instead of the badge going to biteSMS. And also, is there someway I could point the "open" option in quick reply to the Apple Messages app so it doesn't open in biteSMS?

Thank you! ^_^

I think there is a quick reply tweak/app that might be better suited for what you are doing.

I do not see any lag or buggy issues with BiteSMS (love it). A big feature for me is being able to setup a text to be sent at a later time.

This might be a weird question, but for some reason I don't think this thread is showing up under the "New Posts," nor is it showing up when I go to my user control panel. After I noticed this I was surprised someone even saw it.

Do you know the specific names of the apps? I've seen other ones, but they haven't been as noteworthy or looked as good as biteSMS's quick reply and quick compose. One of the issues I've noticed is the respond time for contact pictures to show up. Some show up right away, but most don't until I scroll back and fourth for a little bit.

You might like messages+ it integrates right into the stock app and has QR and QC.

+1 to Messages+. I'm currently using it instead of biteSMS. I only used bitesms for the quick reply and compose. I like the quick reply view better than bite so it just makes since for me to use Messages+. Really missing the status bar icon though. I'm paranoid about my tweaks piling up so I'm debating OpenNotifier at the moment.

I no longer use bite SMS.
I use iMessage for iPhone to iPhone texts.
Google Voice for all other texts.

I stopped paying for text messages long time ago. No need to pay for texts when there is a free alternative that achieves the same result.

Hm. I take it OpenNotifier adds the status bar icon? Maybe it wouldn't be too much of an overload if that's the only thing you set OpenNotifier to do.

I guess I'll try Messages+ and if I don't like it I can always go back.

Just hide the app using springtomize or poof or something like that and I think in the bitesms settings you can enable it to still use the native messages app
Also you can theme bitesms if you don't like the look of it. I personally like bite liquid the best

This:p

As it turns out, Messages+ isn't free and I don't think I want to pay for anything from Cydia. :\

When I ran Springtomize on my iPhone 4 it seemed like there was a massive speed difference when it was enabled whether or not there was really anything in Springtomize turned on. There's not a setting in biteSMS to have it open messages in the Apple Messages app from the QR or Notification Center.

Maybe I just shouldn't be so picky.

Messages+ is good, but it's I believe $7 standalone. If you buy IntellisxreenX, the lock screen/notification center customizer app, it comes with Messages+ built-in and costs $10, so it's a much better deal IMO. Intelliscreen also has the status bar icons for unread messages, mail, etc. so it really enhances the overall experience. If you're sticking with only free apps though then you might just have to deal with BiteSMS.

Not sure if it's exactly what you are after. I'm not familiar with quick compose or reply. I have IntelliscreenX which allows me to reply and write messages from the lock screen. I think it does use messages+. I still use the native app for all my texting and it all seems to work just fine.

Buggy and slow on a iPhone 5? List 5 bugs.

I gave up on BiteSMS. I had purchased it long ago and stopped using it, but thought I would try again. I don't care about QC/QR and haven't gotten any acknowledgement of the email I sent explaining the issue I had on my iPad. Now I've noticed other problems but I give up. Switched back today.

What kind of issues are you guys having?

Now that I've played around with the settings I figured out how to remove the contacts pics as it made the app look unclean and I don't use it. Also I've figured I could change the app icon to the default Messages because I disliked the pink icon.

The new message counts don't clear if I receive the message while still in the conversation on both my iPhone and iPad. I have to go to the home screen and open the app again. On my iPad, the sent messages come flying in from off screen on the left, like it doesn't know where the left edge is. If I open the app while in landscape on my iPad, I get a blank vertical view of the conversation list for a second before it shows me the right screen in the right orientation.

If I used the QC/QR it might still be worth it because it isn't that serious but the above just annoys me too much.

One of my biggest gripes as of lately with BiteSMS is that when I receive a text message while my phone is locked, it will crash and boot into Safe Mode.

Another gripe I have is that when I read a message sometimes, it won't mark as read and I have to kill the app multiple times until it will clear that message and mark it read.

uhhhh bitesms can also imessage.

This. Messages+ blows biteSMs right out of the water.....and this coming from a long-time biteSMS user!

Switched to M+ today and not looking back!

Love biteSMS on the rare occasion I get a text( heavy Whatsapp user).

It's just as fast as the stock messaging app. The themes are great on bitesms too.

intelliscreenX bug or messages+ bug?

The To: is cut off. doesnt seem normal to me.

Also can i delete ncsettings and somehow add toggles for location services and tether icon to the intelliscreen quick selects?

Really the only 2 reasons I jailbreak is for intelliscreen X and biteSMS

On mine, it often doesn't mark messages as read; the top bar disappears sometimes when I open the app (I'll grab a screenshot next time); and it *does* take slightly longer to open (in 10 timed trials it's about a second and a half longer).
