I use my iPhone X for everything. That my X can’t do I’ll use our Mac but that’s very rare.

I'm an Information Technology manager and do much of my work on iOS (iPhone X and iPad Pro).

Most of our data is in the cloud (Office 365, Jira, Canvas, etc.) which makes it very easy to access from any device. The Office 365 apps for iOS are excellent and I often use OneNote, Word, and Excel in meetings. I also use our communications and video conferencing tools on both my iPhone and iPad: Slack, Skype for Business, Zoom.

Generally I use the iPad when I'm in a meeting or when it's handy. I use my iPhone when I'm more mobile, and I use my Apple Watch to glance at information. I have a Windows desktop at work that I use when I am at my desk and need the large displays and multi-tasking capability. At home I have a Windows desktop computer that I mostly use for photography.

There isn't much that I can't do on my iPhone or my iPad, and for those few things I can always remote into my desktop computer. It just comes down to comfort and convenience. I can work for quite a long time on the iPad, especially with a keyboard... and when I travel I don't bring anything else but my iOS devices.

These are incredibly capable devices, and so many of my tasks have migrated from desktop to iPhone and iPad. I manage my tasks, shared projects with my wife, and paying bills all from iOS. Then there is health/fitness stuff, maps, etc. My wife and I have also been reading our local newspaper on our iPads for years now.

sweet yeah it seems thats where the future is going
If this is the future, then I am going to take my 55" LCD TV, my 48" Plasma TV, my computer monitors of 20" or more and store them away somewhere while doing my damndest to find the cash to purchase current TVs of 100" or more and monitors of 30" or more.

I like my iPhone(s) and I like my iPad but not to view video or TV on and not to do my work on. That's what my Macs and my TVs are for and the bigger the better.

I watch a lot of ‘TV’ on my iPhone X.

If you have Apple TV driving your big screens, aren't they just accessories to the Apple ecosystem? :p

iOS and watchOS devices are the only Apple products we own. Our TV is driven by a Roku player, which does have an iOS app that I use frequently because my kids have lost the Roku remote. I can definitely see the appeal of having all the Apple products and operating systems in order to get the most consistent and integrated experience. Since I use mostly cloud based services, I have no trouble accessing a lot of my information as easily from Windows as I can get to it from iOS. I just wish I could get iMessage on Windows.

Personally I'm not into watching video on my iPhone either. It's more comfortable on my iPad, but I'd only do that while traveling. I work with college students who seem to do anything and watch anything on their iPhones and Android phones. I guess that's why they seem to like phablets over smaller/slimmer smartphone models. I prefer my smartphone to be no bigger than the iPhone X, and even that's pushing it. As great as photos and video look on it, I'd much rather view them on as large a display as is convenient. When it comes to work I prefer to use a full keyboard and multiple displays when I can, but I can also get quite a lot done on the iPad if I'm working away from my desk.

Even with Windows computers, it's pretty amazing how easy it is for me to go back and forth between my iOS devices and Windows 10. The benefits of the cloud I guess. Something this morning reminded me of the Palm OS days when I had to sync data between the device and my computer with a cable.

Yeah. A lot of people do.

And I appreciate a larger screen when I'm out and have to wait somewhere and there is no TV. That's why I have an iPad and a 6s+.

But when it comes to being at home and using a computer or watching a show or movie I want the largest screen I can get. And as big as an iPad is, that's not big enough. Hell, my new 55" TV is not big enough, despite my wife objecting to it's size. Once I finally get into the 100" range I'll be more satisfied.

:D

I don't own an Apple TV.

I do have cable TV and every intent to keep it. :)

As for the Apple ecosystem, well…maybe you might understand that I'm not really a part of that when I tell you that my youngest Mac is a 2006 MBP that can run Snow Leopard max. Everything else is a PowerMac or PowerBook. I've got three G5s, a G3 (my server) and a 17" PowerBook G4.

None of which are really capable of using the Apple ecosystem. ;)

I'm at my home desk, and I've literally just put my iPhone down to post this. My gaming PC is what I'm typing this on, with a beautiful 27" display. I've also got my MBP and iPad within reach too. Yet I was browsing reddit on my phone :p

I like to play videos on my iPhone and iPad and have them one on top of the other with 2 slices of bread and a thick slab of cheese between. Makes a great toastie.

I've heard you can use them for ironing clothes too. Doesn't need any water either.

Yep. The only reason I have to use a pc is if I want to upload an album to iTunes that isn’t available on Apple Music. Otherwise I do everything on my phone.

Yes. I do as much as possible on my iPhone. I watch youtube videos on my iPhone and sometimes tv shows. However I do prefer a bigger screen for TV shows and movies and will usually watch them on my iPad pro 10.5 or even moreso on my 50 inch tv hooked up to my apple TV. I have a MacBook but that really gets little use. My iPhone is my primary computing device. I use it for 99% of my commuting needs. The only time I use another device usually because I want to watch something on a bigger screen or because very rarely I cant do said task on iPhone. I just find the iPhone more convenient to use because it's always with me. I prefer larger phones because of how I use them. I have 2 iPads and a mac but prefer my iphone in most situations.

If I'm going to have an session of browsing (forums, Facebook, news sites, reddit, etc) I'll use my MacBook. All other times I use reach for my X. I have never watched TV or a film on anything other than my TVs.

My iPhone is just a means of a communication device, Apple Music in the car and camera for my uses. Everything else I revert to my iPad or laptop. But it really _depends_ on what somebody uses their iPhone for, unless they want to use the mobile version of certain websites, social media, etc.

No way my iPhone X could satisfy me on the Internet. Great out in the field but when the iPad is available I prefer it for the Internet.
Depends on what’s available and most convenient. Right now I’ve got my newborn sleeping on my shoulder so my iPhone is the best device for web browsing for me at this point in time.

Around 80-90% of my personal usage is on an iPad. However, for the 5-10% of the time I use my iPhone, no substitutions possible.

Congrats!

I only use my phone for the Internet if my iPad is not available.

When I’m home lounging around I always have my X with me and it’s my primary means of everything. I only use our Mac or iPad if there’s a task that my X can’t do.

"Everything" depends on what you do.
3D modeling & rendering? Nope
Page layout? Nope
Precision vector illustration? Nope
High quality image editing? Absolutely not
Web page design? Nope

Email, internet, messaging, photo sharing, casual video? yep.

I feel like I do:

I use Apple Pay when I can.
I do use mobile banking for when I can’t. (When card is used the iPhone instantly notifies me).
I use Mobile bus/train passes in the Valley Metro app.
I use Splashtop Business to remote into client computers & servers.
I use Viper SmartStart to start my car.
I use a plethora of HomeKit accessories.
I only check my email from my phone.
I use an Apple Watch, an iPad and a MacBook Air.

And last but not least it’s my only phone and phone number.

But the above examples that you provided would not be possible on a mobile smart phone as it is. You would have to revert to a desktop or laptop, a Mac in this example would be appropriate for any type of major editing or graphic design.
