Amen brother. I'm getting more and more used to the two-thumb typing every day! I love how it auto-corrects and the keyboard changes dynamically for the keys I need...something those stupid ass static keyboards can't do. :D

The Secret

Yeah... the big secret is to type as fast as you can and don't try and fix mistakes as you go. The auto-correction works great then.

I only complain when it comes to passwords and mixed letter-number combinations.

Damn I know. The second time I used the iPhone in the store, I was already typing with two thumbs. Now, if I try, I can type pretty damn fast on it.

The really is the key. I have been poking along way too self-conscious of what I was doing and stopping for mistakes. When I just used the force and typed as fast as I could I found out everything came out fine.

This one about drove me nuts today. My user id is a few letters different from my name which is also a dictionary word and it would not let me type my id at all (it kind of eliminated the hit zone for the letter i needed). I know it resizes the hit zones to help typing, but this was so frustrating. I finally had to type the end part first then insert the first part.

Dunno what the solution is here. Maybe allow word insertion into the dictionary or turn off some of the features when typing in a user id field?

Aside from password insertion I find that I can type as fast as on my blackberry. Granted, I did have practice on both a blackberry and on a Treo so this comes as no difficult task for me. I think that fear has been quashed and with more practice, keyboard typing on the iPhone becomes trivial and quiet easy to do. I'm loving it! Im typing on my new iPhone right now!
