Who Got Screwed???

I generally do some research on future possibilities before parting with that kind of green. I tend not to get screwed...
I bought a rev B iMac in the july before they were updated, I don't feel screwed, neither should you.
You've got an awesome computer,if you expected it to play loads of games then you got it wrong, only game I've seen that is Intel only is Star Wars Empire At War, its not exactly 'every game ever', stuff like AOE3 is universal.
I assume you bought it after the announcement at the WWDC, otherwise I doubt you'd be complaining, what kind of Mac have you got anyway, aside the fact it has a PPC G5?
Don't moan about what you don't have, enjoy what you do.
Edit : Why are you talking about a G5 in the laptop forum? Last time I checked there never was a G5 portable, kind of the wrong place for such complaints...

I got the same computer, ordered the day they were announced. No way do I feel I got screwed.
They came out with a Rev C G5 imac, then made the intel switch. The computer I have works great, does everything I need it to do, looks cool as hell, and will run Leopard like a champ (when it comes out).
Technology is constantly being updated. Buy when you are ready, but be logical about it. If its been 8 months since the last update, it may pay to hold off a little longer. Otherwise, get your gear, use it until it is obsolete*, and then get another.
*Your time may vary.
I agree with you absolutely, my iMac is the most solid computer I've ever used, does everything I want it to do, and does it well, the better multithreading support in Leopard should add even a little more speed!

i do not agree with you, and i think there are some misconceptions that causes you to feel this way.
1. "games on mac are intel mac only" - the ones mentioned in the keynote are not "mac" games. they are using windows code and then using a "translator" to convert certain parts.

so in essence, they are not making "mac" games. Porting games over to the mac (like what happened in the past) took several months to achieve. so what you're hearing about isn't intel mac only games. they are pc games.
i actually applaud EA for making this step. while it does alienate powerpc users, it will help apple gain new switchers. while they are intel macs only, i don't consider them "mac games." i consider it to be a step above virtualization, but below bootcamp
2. "applications are intel mac only" - i don't think this is true. there are some software who say that their next revision is going to be "leopard" only, but that is to take advantage of the leopard enhancements.
Steve Jobs have said that Universal Binaries will be the standard for MANY years to come.
I think there is 1 Adobe software title that is intel macs only.
You know, they announced they were moving to Intel chips before they moved to them. It wasn't as if Steve Jobs woke up one morning and said, "Screw IBM. Starting today, let's do Intel chips!" It was announced quite a while before they made the move. Looking through some old Mac Addicts, my estimate is 3-4 months prior to releasing the computers. So you had every opportunity to wait for the new computers. If you didn't wait, you shouldn't bitch about it now.
They released first, the development machines, those were plain P4 PCs, at 3.6 GHz if memory serves well, that was on July 2005, On Jan 06 they released the first MacBook Pros with CD, and still sold PPC till they made the transition to the whole line. That was not that bad. Just because there is a new model does not mean that your computer instantaneously bricked itself and you have to thrown it out of the window. It does not matter which technology it is meanwhile it does what you need.
I have, besides my Macbook, 2 notebook PCs, one is a 4 years old 2.8 GHz P4, works perfectly and I can do everything I need, The other 2 are newer, but my trusty P4 still rocks.

I was a PC user. I love playing game, So when i needed to buy a new machine, i bought a Mac, Cause it played Wow.
But now that I am not playing Wow anymore, I am just feeling the affects of in the incompatiablity that Mac's truly have in the world of gaming.
And "thegrandmaster" your 100% correct, I have an awesome computer, and this is a direct responce to the WWDC.
Maybe I am a little late in feeling this way. But can't we do SOMETHING?
