Yesterday was my first time actually getting to see the surface pro in person and I really liked it. Is there anyone here with one and have you tried photoshop or Corel painter on it for illustrations ? I am tempted to either buy a Cintiq 13HD or a Surface Pro (but will likely wait for Haswell for battery life improvements) but wonder what folks experiences with it as a tablet for drawing and illustrating.

Thanks folks...

The guy at Penny Arcade really likes it.

I personally don't like drawing on a screen that size though. I've tried it on a DELL tablet that was the same size as the Pro and a 7" Kindle Fire, and then my iPad Mini. The widescreen is an issue because it gives you a weird working area. Not enough on the sides, and in landscape there's too much on the side, and not enough on the top.

Is great for storyboarding with index cards though. Somewhat perfect printing dimensions for the oversized ones. A tablet and a wifi/cloud based printer, and it's a perfect setup.

A friend who's a graphic artist with several years of experience says he's quite impressed with all that one can do. He's had his but a few days, but has dedicated time to put it through it's paces to decide if he was going to keep it. Now that he has I'm sure I'll hear more about its specific performance.

Was watching some Corel painter and photoshop brush usage on YouTube and there seemed a lot of lag. I think I need something more responsive, or wait for Haswell in hope there is increased performance & battery.
