I have had nothing but problems with iTunes Match since its release. Among them: 1) duplicates on my iPhone, 2) smart playlists fine on MacBook but incorrect on iPhone, 3) album artwork missing/incorrect, 4) purchased songs on MacBook not updated as 256kbps (even though I have removed/redownloaded), etc. I have tried turning off iTunes Match on my iPhone, resyncing without music checked, and turning iTunes Match back on...along with many other turn-off/resync sequences. For those that have iTunes Match working flawlessly after running into some problems, was there anything in particular that you did to resolve some of the common errors others are seeing? So far, I have seen no benefits from iTunes Match, only headaches.

Not Me....here is my list of annoyances.

1 - iOS Devices sorting is done alphabetical but on my library its chronological.
2 - Playing a song usually skips that song and plays the next
3 - iTunes Match got rid of almost ALL of my hi-res scans and replaced them with incorrect artwork.
4 - Double artwork, only notice when you go track by track.
5 - Songs won't go to the cloud because it says duplicate even though they are not (yes I am 1000% sure)

So here is one more thing that is driving me nuts. All my music is in the cloud now, uploaded 17k songs, so last night I went through and decided to be anal and fix all my artwork. Guess what...today more than half are back to whatever the hell iTunes Match is doing...WHAT THE F!?!?!?!? This is beyond annoying...just leave my tracks alone...cloud tracks mess with those daily really don't care just want my iTunes library left alone.

I should not have adopted this service with how anal I am about my library.

For me, it has been mostly pain-free. I do have a small library compared to some (1644 songs, 1341 were matched).

My three gripes:

- It removed some artwork (maybe 8-10 albums). I'll be trying to fix this tonight.

- Some self-made compilations that I had organized into one album (a TV theme song collection for example) were split up into 3-4 albums, as it matched some songs inside and not others.

- I had 3 versions of 1 album (Normal, Bonus, and Live) and it matched them all to the normal :(

So for me it is nothing game-breaking. I didn't have any lossless files, and it did match the overwhelming majority of my library, along with almost all of the artwork. I just hope they continue to upgrade the matching ability and add a way to update/re-scan/fix songs to iTunes match within iTunes.

i had MANY MANY MANY issues, i finally seem to have fixed most of them. some just seem to be bugs that need to be worked around

covers didnt show
> had to resize the picture to something less than 500 x 500 than deleted the song from the cloud and uploaded the new copy with the resized cover art.

SOME covers STILL didnt show
had to actual play the song and waited for the "spinning wheel" to stop, the cover eventually showed up

Songs were skipping or didnt download and got stuck towards the end of the blue circle
this is an issue with purchased songs on a different apple ID, i had to convert the songs to a new acc file which got uploaded and finally played fine

Got stuck on Step 3 of the Upload process
caused by error songs (too low bitrate) after i deleted them from my library, it finally finished uploading the rest

there was probably more i cant think of right now

Not I. I have a pretty ggod grasp on it but it does do some funky things. It seems to have more problems with Classical music - organization, albums, artwork, etc. than it does with more current stuff.

Anyone having the issue where a song that should be matched, is not? For example, from one album some songs are matched and others are not while the whole album is available in the iTunes store. It is so annoying.

Happens all the time to me. I'm using primarily to upgrade all my 128k files. What's frustrating is that it is always 1 track in an album. So while it only missed a few hundred of my 11k collection, they are all spread out on random albums. I haven't checked each one, but the ones I have all show available in the itunes store.

Even weirder: I tend to do a lot of the matching on my laptop, and then copy the files over to my desktop to store everything since it has a much larger drive. I typically then delete them locally on my laptop. Anyway, about 5% of the time, a previously matched song won't match, and the irony is that it's using the new 256k AAC version I downloaded on my laptop. So it re-uploads (?). (My methodology is a bit strange but I went through great pains to manage a library outside of iTunes, so that's why I often delete/re-add.)

This is one of those cases when I am kicking myself for being an early adopter. I'm having shades of all of the above issues as well, iTunes Match definitely not what I expected to get for my money. It did not 'upgrade' my songs that were less than 256kbps either, it simply "could not find a match" for most of them.. and uploaded the originals to the cloud.:(

My Music Match Stats & Issues

Library: 24,074
Matched: 20,035
Uploaded: 3,994
Error: 16
Not Eligible: 10
Duplicate: 24
Purchased: 71

All matched songs were deleted from my library, then downloaded iCloud copy. Not all songs downloaded at 256 kbps.

46 songs < 256 kpbs
64 songs > 256 kbps

All playlists - regular & smart - are streaming fine.

No album art or lyrics when streaming. Downloading song to device does download album art, but doesn't seem to include lyrics.

ALL MATCHED SONGS are now embedded with PURCHASED BY [me]
and Account Name [me]
