I can't make a decision about what monitor I should buy to use with my new iMac 27. I have a limit budget about $400 -$500. I narrow my choice into these models, which are Dell U2410 and HP 2710m or Dell U2311H.

I'm a Software Engineer and I'm using the Dell U2410 at my company and I dont have any problem with it. I can get it only $435

The problem is that I would like to know people using 27 iMac with a smaller monitor like 24 inch. What do you feel? any different? That's why my choice includes Hp2710M even if it's not the IPS monitor but a TN monitor. I cna get it $340

The Dell U2311h is the IPS monitor as well and I can get it only $250. With only one inch less than U2410 but less price almost $200, I could not ignore it.

Should i get ont of the IPS monitor even if the screen is smaller or use the same size with my iMac 27? I cant afford the IPS 27 inch.

Any advices ,Especially IT people, would be apprecaited. You can recommend other displays as well if better

I'm not using an additional monitor with my 27", but in the past I always looked to have similar sized monitors to prevent distraction when working.

On that note, I have always used Samsung monitors with every laptop that I have owned and there is one at Costco that I particularly liked when I was there a couple of days ago. If you have a membership I would look into getting it.

I'd recommend an LED illuminated monitor. The extra upfront cost will be compensated by energy savings over time. And it won't get dimmer as time goes by.

Other than that suggestion, make sure you try each candidate out in person where possible.

Apple's upcoming 27 inch LED monitor is expensive but may be worth it depending on your point of view. It is essentially an 27 inch iMac without the computer specific parts.

Or for those prices - might as well buy a 27" refurbished C2D.

Do we have any 27 LED monitor , not from Apple?

Any IT expert's advice? Or should i get the smaller one with iPS or the same size but the TN monitor?
