Who matches Apple?

I would really like a change from my iPhone 6. But I'm stumped as to who makes a phone that matches the consistency and quality of the iPhone. For instance, while the Nexus 6P has gotten rave reviews, when you read various forums there are many issues, big and small, that you just don't see in Apple user forums. For instance, while not the norm, many have battery drain issues. Or Bluetooth issues. Or the phone bends. Again with the Nexus, everyone likes the camera results, but many note the time it takes to take and process a picture is too long, certainly longer than current iPhones. The picture I get is of a really good phone, much of the time. But one that also suffers from quality issues at a much higher rate than iPhones.

So the thing is, I know my iPhone will always connect to my car stereo, I know I always get decent battery life, and I know I can snap a series of photos quickly with no problems. It is reliable and consistent. Do any Android phones match this? I hope I don't come off as a troll, that isn't my intent. I would be happy to go back to Android, but I also don't want to spend all my time looking for which app is draining my battery..

Stay with Apple. I seriously doubt you will ever be happy with anything else.

That said, for me personally, my S7 Edge beats the iPhone in every one of your scenarios listed. That is just my opinion though. I have an iPhone SE as a backup phone now, just in case or if I feel like a change. But when it comes to Hardware quality, camera speed and quality of pics, battery life, looks, etc... Only the Samsung S7 Edge will do.

Most all of those have shown up in iPhones as well. I liked my Sony Experia that I used to have as far as hardware goes, but I couldn't get used to Android so I went back to the iPhone. But that line is one you could look into.

Only other phone(s) I have ever owned that I would go back to in a heartbeat would be the Galaxy Note series. I loved my Note 2,3 and 4, and honestly enjoy them more then my iPhone 6s+. Thinking about going back to them depending what the iPhone 7 brings

Given how good the S7/S7 Edge is, the Note 6 is going to be top notch. iPhone 7 and the Note 6 will release around the same time frame, so it'll be best for you to wait until this fall.

Oh yeah I plan to wait. Honestly thought about selling and paying off my 6s+ now, and buying the iPhone SE before the 6s+ prices go down. But depending on what the iPhone 7 brings (since every other electronic I own is apple) I may switch to the Note 6.

I love being able to just sync everything through all my devices with Apple, which will mess everything up if I go back to a galaxy

I would have bought the iPhone SE for my second line, if it was 32gb for the same price instead of 16gb.

Yeah, being in college I can't afford to buy it sadly. I would have to sell my 6s+ to do it, but then I would be phone less for a few weeks which can't happen lol

The Edge seems really nice.. But I've focused on the Nexus because like the iPhone, you can get one carrier unlocked that will work with any US carrier, GSM or CDMA

If you enjoy rooting..buyer beware for Samsung..I sold my 6s+ and got s7edge
the US snapdragon version is locked..no Way to root
That said..nice phone...might as well of kept the iPhone...

I honestly have no idea what rooting is....I use my phones the way they come. I don't jailbreak or anything like that. With my luck I'll mess up my phone and render it useless by trying lmao

More then likely, the Note 6 will be locked as well. I may switch over to Nexus as I haven't had a Nexus phone since the 4. I was trying to decide between the Nexus 6P and the S7 Edge and the Edge won this round.

The customization is what draws a lot of buyers to android. So if you don't care about that then I'd say iPhone. But in case you're still curious there's the s7 and s7 edge, then the htc m10 coming soon as well among other options. Heck even the one plus three will be here soon.

Keep in mind, for every person complaining on a forum, there are probably 100 or better that have no problems. In fact, I saw someone post in the Nexus 6P section on one of the Android forums I visit, just to report all is going well. There are also several posts from people that have "had everything" and say it's the best device they've used.

I have a 6P, sometimes put my phone in my pants pocket and don't have any bending issues, though I am careful with it. I don't track screen on time religiously like some, but it gets me through the day without question, even connected to a watch and BT headset all day and sometimes streaming music over WiFi to a stereo BT headset for an hour at the gym. I also sync 5 mail accounts through 2 mail apps, all with push.

If you spend time on any tech forums, you're likely to believe any/every phone has problems that affect everyone. If that was the case, many of these OEMs wouldn't have the satisfaction levels they have. I own both an iPhone and an Android phone (work v personal). Both platforms (and hardware) have their strengths and weaknesses.

I'd go with a 6p, since the Nexus line is basically the iPhone of Android. Stock software, no bloat, instant updates, smooth UI, excellent performance, good cameras, good battery life, fast fingerprint scanners, and an attractive design. Plus, if you get sick of stock Android, you can unlock the bootloader and throw a custom ROM on without voiding the warranty. The Nexus is a developer phone and is, in my opinion, the best Android phone money can buy.

I honestly think you will be happier staying with the iPhone. Android is for people who like to tinker with their technology. I say this as someone who has an employer issued iPhone 6 and a personal Moto X 2nd Gen.

Edit: If you want to go spend money on an Android product you can be certain that you will be welcome in this section of the Forum with open arms. I'd just would hate to see you put your hard-earned money down on something you will end up not liking when you use that same money to buy another Apple product that you would be happy using.

Not really, I know plenty of non techy/never tinkers, that like Android over the iPhone. My mother being one of them. I gave her my previous Note 4 and she loves that phone, never had any issues. I tried offering her an iPhone 6S and she declined. I think it's all about people being set in their ways, not the actual OS itself.
