Other Who remembers the 5C 8GB?

I could easily survive on 8 GB. Even when I owned my iPhone 6, I had 16 GB and had plenty of storage left over. I’m not a heavy application or data user. But iPhone 5c was an amazing little iPhone that was well constructed and durable for being “Plastic” like.
I probably could have, at a pinch, at the time. Now all my devices are 64GB (the 8GB on the watch is sufficient) with differing content on them - I think 256 or even 128GB like the 7 I had for a year was overkill.
8 GB and you'd survive? Dam, just the OS today takes up to 2GB of space. Can't imagine just having around 5 GB left over.
Agree, a few minutes of video recording (especially 4k) and the GB rapidly fills up. With todays standards and future proofing I wouldn't recommend anything less than 128GB.
With that model being offered at the time, I could easily survive 8 GB. But with today’s standards with downloads and updates, it would be rather difficult. But I also was a user that barely even filled 16 GB of memory when it was offered.
I remember that. It was discontinued in August of that same year.
I have a 5C that I use. Nice little phone. Running iOS 10.3.3

Like 5GB or something. I know you couldn't update to iOS 8 on it unless the device was nearly empty. Really, at that time, they should've moved to 32GB base already.

There was no app store back then but yes, as mentioned, it was quickly discontinued. Iirc, the Facebook app was something like 30-50MB in the early days of the App Store. Nowadays, I think it's 500MB and the FB Messenger app is a separate 300MB download.

By the time iOS 7 rolled around, Apple really should've moved to 32GB base already for iPads at the very least. The 2048*1536 resolution meant resources (ergo apps) were much larger.

8GB is worthless in 2018, being software updates are so big and takes a ton of space.
i also own a 5C yellow 16 GB but don't use anymore.

See my earlier post. I just added some pictures to it. I use it every day. It is my super secret secondary phone number. My main phone is the iPhone X with Verizon.
Lol, mine's all chipped and back camera recently broke. We use it for overseas trips. That way, no worries even if it got lost/stolen.
The 5c is one of the few iPhone models I find comfortable in hand without a case.

I just checked Coconut Battery, and I have 671 cycles on the phone with 83.7% design capacity left. Not too bad.
I'm still using a White 8GB 5c. It's my phone for when I'm out and about. Security issues in my country. I'd rather not take my 6s, which is flawlessly working on iOS 9.3.3. I really like it. It's really comfortable to use without a case, it's comfortable to carry. Battery life is still decent after 718 cycles, 84% health. It's not great - a good 2-3 hours below my 6s on iOS 9 - but it's far more than enough for one day, with my usage. I finish the day with 70%.
About storage: I don't really use it to store anything, so I have 2.5 GB left. Just a few necessary apps, and that's it.
It's fairly fast, though as it has been updated to iOS 9, it isn't the fastest it could be (I did not update it. If it were up to me, it'd still be running iOS 7). But, it does everything I want it to, perfectly. Kind of like @BasicGreatGuy, it's my little secret secondary phone number. (Also, we are fairly similar on cycles and battery health). How many cycles does it have today, are you still using it?

A friend of mine just recently bought my daughter’s 8+ from her. She was still using a green 5C she bought from me (it was my mom’s) quite a while back.
It served her well, but I think she was happy to have a new phone!

If it had a better price and was a stripped 5s instead of repackaged 5 it would've done much better in sales
