Who returned their 15'' LED for a 17''? Because of a screen issue?

Do you like the 17'' Better?

I recently returned the 15'' and got my money back. My Entire screen was yellowish, and unexceptable. I like the size of the 15'' but, dont like the LED screen. Everyone I have seen is different, and not acceptable.

So what about the 17''? I am thinking 17'' HD, How does it compare to the 15''? Thanks

Can you take some pics of it?

Not me. The extra resolution of the 17in is certainly nice but I did not have any problems with my screen since I bought my MBP. It's too late now I'm guessing but I would have reccomended downloading MacInTouch's color profile (they calibrated a LED MBP) and using that instead of exchanging it. I downloaded it the first day, just because it looked better, and haven't looked back.

alex.vm, i have spent a good hour looking for the color profile you speak of. any way you could post a link that works? they all seem to be dead, and i think that most are from june of 2006, possibly an older mbp?

i can't find reference to this anywhere.

any help would be much appreciated!

thanks in advance.

I almost did this but decided the give the 15.4" one more try. My first one didn't have any real problems until the backlight completely stopped working. My second one was so uneven that the left side of the display showed much brighter color than the right. My third - and hopefully final - one is perfect.

One thing I'd like to point out is that the default ColorSync profile for the 15.4" is awful. It makes the display entirely too warm and way too green. After calibration, the screen really comes to life and actually rivals my 23" ACD. It's simply gorgeous.

The 17" HD, on the other hand, has a much cooler color temperature out of the box. It's also noticeably less bright at the maximum setting. (It's still plenty bright, though.) The downfall for me was that my eyes were having a hard time with the higher pixel density. It looked great overall, but my vision is poor and I was afraid I might struggle with it on a daily basis. Not good considering I write code for a living.
