The same was done with the new iPad, dictation was there from the start and then eventually became Siri. I'd love to see Siri integration in OS X, being able to make reminders and sending messages. What do you guys think?

I think it's quite obvious that it will eventually be on OS X. Apple is working hard on this technology and the better it gets, the more we'll see it. Especially if they're investing in getting Siri onto the steering wheels of the auto companies, Siri is going to be around for the long haul and not end up a gimmick.

yea eventually, when they announced Dictation i was thinking why they didn't just call it Siri, since they're bringing iOS features to the mac anyways.

I definitely think that dictation will evolve to become Siri, which in turn will be an evolution of the speech recognition and "Speakable Items" which have been a part of Mac OS since OS 8. (Maybe System 7? I don't remember System 7 very well, but I know my Performa has speech recognition.)
