Just wondering whether anyone uses the following programs:

1) ArtRage 2
2) Alias Sketchbook
3) Corel Painter IX or earlier...

What has your experience been like?

And do you find a tablet PC better to use for these programs?

I like Corel Painter IX.5 on my Mac with Wacom tablet. There are so many things you can do with Painter; you can do more by using it together with Photoshop.

As far as Alias Sketchbook Pro, it is more ideal for Tablet PC. Sketchbook Pro's interface makes it very easy to navigate through the pen with Tablet PC. I have been using Fujitsu Tablet PC and I have Sketchbook Pro on it; it works like a charm.

I have not used Art Rage too much; so I cannot comment on it.

Just got a demo of Artrage and it's a nice little piece of software, and quite honestly worth the $20 for the dull package.

However, Painter IX is an incredible piece of software and if you can afford it...(or obtain it, I suppose...) then it's worth every penny.

I'm thinking I need to save up for at least one of these apps. I really don't want to end up like my painting professor... *coughleadcadiumcough*
