Who wants their iPad delivered between 8 and 12 guaranteed?

All you have to do is schedule a pickup for Fedex Express and pick the earliest "ready" time (8:00 am) and the latest "pickup" time (12:00 pm). For most, this will work because the same guy that drives your express truck will also be doing pickups. They dont even charge to schedule a pickup! When they arrive, just say you decided to just drop off the package yourself earlier!

I know my FedEx driver, as he has been delivering to my workplace the past 4 years, and I know for a fact he has a certain route he takes. My stop is at 11:30AM every day. I would never purposely lie to him and make him go out of his way so I can get something that won't kill me to not have.

Just a little bit rude to the delivery person, in my opinion.

Some people arent getting their iPads delivered to the office and may not be home. This method is to insure you will be there for delivery without having it left on the porch. This is not rude to the driver; he still gets paid (more due to more time) and he was going to come anyway.

First off they do charge for On Call pickups, and secondly they don't always send the same driver as the one that is delivering your packages.

With scheduled delivery by 3 PM or 4:30 for rural areas, if the FedEx truck your iPad is coming on isn't scheduled to be at your house within your "pickup" time frame, then they will send a reserve truck from your local facility to your house, or pull a truck that is on a nearby route or is coming back from scheduled dropoff location pickups.

This is NOT a safe thing to do and I do not recommend it (from a daily FedEx shipper for 5 years).

...And if your package happens to not be on the pickup truck? I know we reeeeally want these things as soon as possible, but seems a bit too impatient to go out of your way to inconvenience a driver like that.

Totally agree. That's kind of mean to the FedEx guy. Besides, you have been waiting for a while, what's another few more hours. Be patient, it's a virtue.
