My mum asked me what I wanted for christmas this morning, she said would I mind a LCD/Plasma TV for my room. i suppose it would be a trade-off though, at the moment I'm using a big old CRT-style 26" TV. nothing wrong with it at all. its big, the picture is brilliant, its got 3 scart inputs. its all good! but I've been wanting an extra monitor for my PowerBook for a while now...

so my plan now is to go for an extra monitor for my PB and get an EyeTV DTT so i can watch Digital TV on it. but this raises 2 questions [this is where YOU come in!]...

1) What's a good monitor to get? I asked a lecturer earlier today and he recommended some 21" Sony model. he said its quite easy to get it for £300. which is my definite limit (my brother and sister are getting plasma's too and i cant really have anything that costs more than theirs. they'd cry!). so yea. a good monitor; £300 limit. as this will also act as my bedroom TV it needs to be an absolute minimum of 17"

2) This is probably the most important question... Is there an adapter out there, or maybe even a monitor, that can take scart/composite cable? so i can play my games machines on it (NES, Gamecube, Xbox)?

cheers guys n gals :)

dell 2005 FPW . . . 20" wide screen. . . same screen as used in the apple 20" monitor but with more electronics behind it, such as a composite video input, s-video input, VGA input and DVI input. pretty cool. and if you watch around it goes on really really good sales often. usually goes for $700 in the states but is often about $450. thats what i have and its great. other dell monitors are good and you can get them cheaper, 20" normal (not wide) 19" normal etc. just check to make sure whichever one you decide on has the multiple inputs, b/c some dont!
