Noticed this has started happening on my M1 Air after installing 12.1 Beta (21C5039b). Happens every time. I set the display to sleep after 3 minutes of inactivity and right after it went dark I woke it and this is how it was. Mainly looking for confirmation from more knowledgable users that this looks software related and/or other users experiencing this issue. To clarify, this is directly on the Airs screen.

Here's what it looks like:
Rebooting fixes it immediately. Thanks!

Oh, it used to happen on my 2019 as well. Sometimes closing the lid and reopening after a couple of seconds did the trick, sometimes changing the resolution (blindly), if I remember correctly I did a full SMC reset (for other reasons) and it went away.

Over in the MacOS beta reddit there are dozens of threads about this. Seems it’s a widespread bug.
