Since I installed Catalina, 5-6 days after each reboots, my computers always messed up and have to reboot it again to repeat it. When it does messed up, app no longer loads or crash. I'm also disconnected to iMessages. But when I reboot, everything seems to work again. Never had this problem on Mojave.

Everyone else?

Anyone have a clue ? It happens again last night after 7 days since the last reboot. Apps begins to crashes and the whole system will lag. For exemple Chrome will always crash when it happens and if not other apps will when Chrome is opened.

When it happens, I have to reboot my mac again and everything will work again for like 5-7 days before it begins to be completely unstable again.

Install Catalina on another SSD and keep it as is, don’t install anything.

test. and once satisfied with that gradually install apps after making sure your barebones system is cloned.

My advice:
STOP using Chrome. Use something else.
SHUT DOWN the Mac EVERY night, and reboot in the morning.
It will run better that way.

I had to delete Chrome and reinstall a fresh copy after updating to Catalina.

Thanks for all your answers. My main browser is Safari, I only use chrome sometimes for specific task and since Catalina, I also have problem with Safari. But even if Chrome is not open, the whole OS will eventually be unstable after 4-5 days.

Before Catalina, I rebooted maybe once a month and never had this kind of issues.

You read threads where Catalina and Safari was severely affected by antivirus software? Firewall products? Extensions?
