iPad Pro Who's been using the aPencil without screen protection?

Has anyone been using the apple pencil without any screen protection?
I'm mainly interested in if you've been using it outside the house and for about a year or more.
Any scratches?

I used it like that on the first gen 12.9 and 9.7.

I've never had an issue or any scratches.

Never used a screen protector on any of my ipads. Ive been using the pencil at least 4 hrs day at work for a year on my 12.9 and no scratches traveled a bit with it too, no problems

I would just advise to keep the display clean regularly with a microfiber cloth and wipe the Pencil Tip every so often, which can collect debris as well.

I used my 9.7 Pro without one and managed to scratch it while sketching. I keep my stuff very clean, so it must have just been a small piece of grit that caused it. I added a glass protector after that. When I upgraded to the 10.5, I didn't use my pencil at all until I had another glass protector installed. Scratches drive me nuts.

I've been using the Apple Pencil on a 1st gen 12.9 Pro for 17 months without a screen protector... no problems, no scratches.

I bought the Gen one 12.9 on launch day. It took me a couple months to find the Apple Pencil in stock. I would estimate that I have about 1.5 years using the pencil without a screen protector. I use the pencil for note taking and marking up PDF's. Zero scratches.
