I think the two devices will offer a lot of the samethings, in terms of video, audio and picture playback. But, major differences will be the storage space, 8GB to 80GB, or whatever it may be? I'll be purchasing both products, anyone else in the same boat?

I know I won't. I don't need that huge storage space, and part of the reason I'm getting an iPhone is so that I can have my cell phone and my ipod in one device. Buying another iPod would just defeat the purpose.

yeah, the iPhone is all I need!! I don't need to have my entire record collection with me during my 10 minute commute to work. The iphone will replace both my Razr and my Ipod Nano.

I just hope I don't drop the iPhone as much as I have dropped my current phone.:(

We're in the same razr-nano boat :D

The iPhone will be my 6th Gen iPod. I just sold my 5.5gen White iPod. Currently using a 1GB shuffle till the 29th.

8GB will be plenty, I'll just change what's in it every 2 weeks or so, only thing I'll regularly update are podcasts such as TWiT and MacBreak Weekly.

The iPod won't be widescreen and won't have that cool interface. I'm going to stick with my click-wheel iPod as back-up and get an iPhone. In a few years time, the iPhone memory will be up with that of the full-blown iPod, so I can upgrade then.

The whole point of the iPhone is to reduce the number of devices on my person. My old phone and iPod are gone, that is the only way I can justify the high price.
