I say if they're that dumb, let them pay the price. We the smarter ones know what to do.

On a serious note. People might want the older ones for hacking purposes. I've seen some neat things done on those versions of iPods that aren't available on the newer ones.

There may be reasons why but I haven't seen any value in paying that much for one for my needs.
 
I've heard that the older ipods (not sure about the ipod nano) can be used as boot disks and stuff like that which the newer ones can't.

Other then that, I'm with synth3tik but feel it's a much larger proportion :p

lol, goto newegg.com and buy a 2G Flash USB for $15, it can be made into a bootdisk as well.
 
Macally makes headphones that fit a 1st or 2nd gen nano. a 3rd won't fit.

my wife uses them when she paints, with her 1G 1 GB.
