Did you guys update the osx for mac pro? I didn't want to update it yet as I seen people complaining that it's bad at the moment.

Almost every OS has people’s complain. I upgrade to 10.13 for fun (my Mac Pr is for leisure use). TBH, if you look for stability, better stay at 10.12.6 at this moment.

I just had a KP this morning due the photo analysis deamon.

Finder occasionally hang. A simple relaunch can always bring it back. (Only happen on my profile, my wife’s profile never hang)

UI is actually better than 10.12.6, more smooth with my R9 380.

File duplication of course mush faster with APFS.

The main benefit to go HS is all iCloud function can sync with iOS 11 device. If this is not your concern, really not much reason to go HS at this moment.

Thanks! My works depends on stability. How is your r9 380 at the moment? I could benefit from file dupe.

I can't hang when file hangs....lol.
You planning to go back?
Did they improve on gpu support? Like how they mentioned about egpu support in the past?

In fact, it seems only the UI of finder hang, the files copying etc still working in the background. As long as you wait and let the operation finish before relaunch, the operation can be completed. But if you have concern, better stay at 10.12.6.

The R9 380 works really well (In both Sierra and HS), absolutely no complain. From memory, haven't seen a single GPU bug yet.

No plan to go back at this moment. I did have a Sierra installer backup, but my backup partition also upgraded to my HS clone now. Only one KP so far, I am OK for that. But again, my machine is just a leisure machine, so no big deal for me.

Haven't try eGPU yet, can't comment on that. But really feel more smooth on UI (e.g. Safari scrolling, Enter / Exit mission control, etc). It seems they make pretty good GPU driver for the R9 3xx card at this moment.

Are you inquiring about 10.12.6 or 10.13? My 5,1 (genuine) and 6,1 Mac Pros are both at 10.12.6. No problems to report. The 5,1 has 32GB of aftermarket memory but it otherwise stock. The 6,1 is completely stock.

Well, i was wondering if you updated it to HS.

Because you said:

"Well, i was wondering if you updated it to HS."

The title doesn't really reflect that.
Does that matter? The whole concept is about about who decided not to update and who did.

You’re being a bit pedantic. The title is perfectly clear.
No, it is not. At least not if he wants to know who has upgraded to HS. To illustrate I could have answered that my 1,1 Mac Pro is still on 10.7.5 and my 3,1 Mac Pro is still on 10.11.6. Someone might even answer with their 5,1 is running 10.12.5.

If you are not going to stay on topic, you shouldn't be in this thread.

How is this? I am currently at 10.12 .6 on my two Mac Pros. In addition, I am waiting a little while to upgrade. Good idea about staying on topic. So important to follow the rules. Let me repeat, in response to the original question, I am currently at 10.12.6.

Good. What is preventing you from updating?

Say what you will that will not change the fact the title doesn't ask the question the OP wants the answer to. Maybe English isn't his or your first language so I can see why you may feel it is unambiguous wrt to what he wants to know.

Why are you making a big deal about nothing?
I'm not. I merely suggested you may want to change the title of the thread to reflect the information you a seeking. You asked why and I answered that question.

If it the situation were reversed I would say to myself "Maybe the title isn't that clear and maybe I should do as he suggests and change it".

Well, you already gave me your answer, so i'm fine with that.
