Who‘s getting Apple Care for Airpods Pro?

I just took the plunge and purchased AC+ for the new Airpods. I feel like this is the model that I’ll stick with last at least for two years, as the sound and the ANC are just SO good. I think after About a year, they‘ll need replacement because of the batteries though, if the first gen is any reference.

What do you guys think?

You spend $29 now for the chance to save $31 later if you need to replace. Not an amazing proposition.

The $89 is not time limited like AC+

I think you‘re more likely looking at 190$ replacing costs because both batteries will be at very limited capacity in one year. So you will be saving. And I dont intend to keep them more than 2 years..

I bought it. I have the worst luck with headphones. They all break on me at some point (less than a year). And it’s only headphones. This luck doesn’t seep on over to my other stuff, clothing too.

For $250 retail price, you should already get 2-3 years of battery replacement coverage included.

With AC+, does the $29 incident cover all pieces at a time or individual pieces? So if one side breaks, I'm guessing it costs $29 to replace just that piece, right?

My preference would be for the $29 to cover both earphones and case if a single piece breaks but I'm guessing that's not how it works. If so, does anyone know if it's still a single $29 incident if all pieces do break at once, such as getting run over by a car?

I normally don't get Applecare for most items. I'm quite careful in general and I have gadget insurance too. however, I actually went for it in this case. the cost is so lower relative to the cost of the airpods (compared to say an iPhone), the airpods battery WILL deplete over time, and their just so small that anything can happen so easily. Generally I wouldn't buy the same for over ears because they're big, and less likely to loose and less chance you'll accidently step on them!

There's no evidence that the batteries will be degraded after one year. In fact the evidence is the opposite, as these use a quite different battery than the originals. There's another thread on the subject, linking to tech documents showing a minimum of 85% capacity after a MINIMUM of 500 total charge/discharge cycles.

It's not a big investment to get AC+, but stating the batteries will be degraded badly enough to need it in one year is probably quite wrong.
