Who's Leaving Work Early on Friday?

For God's sake, don't call in sick. It's a super cool device and everything, but it is just a phone...and an iPod....and an Internet browser. Anyways, it's people calling in sick that's going to make the rest of us who worked hard all day have a tougher time getting one.
I plan on working a full day till 4ish, then scooting over to the local Apple Store.
I am working from home the first part of the day, then heading to the line around lunch time.
If your job isn't flexible, just order it online. You will get it in a few days.

I am busting out of work around lunch and have two ATT stores near an Apple store to choose from. Hope to be in line no later than 1. Man I want one of these puppies.

A few days??? and watch all the fun on macrumors while you wait for your iPhone to ship? I don't think anyone has that kind of self control.
I'm leaving at noon on Thursday and have the entire day off on Friday. I normally never work Mondays....I've swapped having my Monday off for that Friday!

Taking off the day. Today's my birthday (Sunday), so Friday will kind of a little gift to me. --Who am I kidding, its way past "little". I've asked for presents to come in the form of Apple store gift cards. I'd love to "super-size" my iPhone and add in a few "power-ups".

I have Friday off anyway, but I have visitors flying in from out of town. That's really been a thorn in my side because otherwise I could get to the Apple store or AT&T early and get an iPhone on the 29th. Unless I abandon my guests, I will have to order online and wait for it to ship
I'm considering lying and saying I have to do some work Friday. It's New York City. They can find something to do like go to a museum and dine. By the time they're done, I'll re-join them. Otherwise I'll be pissed off, watching the news about the release, seeing people in public with the phone and not having one.
I already told my boss that I wasn't going to be able to come in on Friday because of the iPhone. He understood completely (he's a tech person also). I figure that I've waited too long for this phone to miss out, so I'm probably going to show up at 10am (when my Apple Store and mall opens).
The people I work with, including one of my supervisors, are looking forward to me coming in on Monday so they can check out my iPhone.
We take turns trying out each other's latest tech toys. I'm a web/db/pc programmer and us developers work in the same suite.i took the day off, but not because of the phone. friday is my b-day!...........but im still am getting the phone
