I’m getting the 12 Pro so AppleCare is an extra $199.
I’ve had it on multiple past phones (and my wife’s) and I think we used it only twice and for minor stuff like a cracked screen.
I’ve got phone insurance through my credit card company so I’m thinking of skipping AC this year.

I'm definitely buying it this year. I ordered the iPhone Pro 12 and I don't plan on using a case so I have no choice really.

I didn't have it on my X, and due to a defect to replace the battery I would have had to buy a refurbished $500+ X. With AC+, it would have been whatever Apple normally charges for battery replacement on AC+.

So I buy the 11 with it. No problems in 10 months, so will transfer the remainder with the phone now that I've ordered the Pro with it.

The only iPhone I didn’t buy AppleCare with was my 4s. I blame it on being 17 and stupid. I hate using cases on my iPhone. So I just say that the AppleCare money is the money I would have spent on cases while I have the phone.
Especially since Apple lowered the screen replacement to $29, it is well worth it.

If you need to use it once, it pays for itself. I am going to get it and pay monthly.

I'm paying it off monthly. Since 0% I'll see how long I can hold out. This last 5 weeks I've let my credit card balances grow $5000. Homeowners insurance. Car insurance. Phone. New battery in car. Hotel. Misc. I'll pay off the $1198 on the phone for up to 24 months, the other will come due sooner ($2400 tomorrow). Definitely don't want to pay CC interest.

I bought AppleCare on all the devices it was eligible for. So I have comfor in knowing I am protected on an iPhone, iPad and AirPods

I've purchased Applecare on everything I bought from Apple. Only had to use it one time for a crashed hard drive on an iMac. Peace of mind is worth it for me.

And I haven't. Cost me in some cases not having it (the X, my iPad Pro). Not had to use in other cases (like the Mac Pro or the 11, not used). My iPad pro is the only one I've had a broken screen on. Never on an iPhone. And it was close to the price of a new iPad (slightly lower specs) to have it repaired (refurbished unit).

Always buy apple care for my iPhones, then I can use my phone without a case when I feel like it. it’s a crime to hide them dark navy blue bezels and that deep blue back on my iPhone 12. 👀📱😍

I decided to skip it this year as I always am extremely careful with my iPhone and I trade-in yearly.

My Otterbox Defender will be my insurance, never broke a phone in my life using it. Now Apple Watch is a different story since I buy the more expensive one.

You’re spending WAY too much on cases!
😉
Haha, well I haven’t spent that much on cases in a long time. I bought three or four cases for my 4s trying to find one I liked. Then stopped using cases and broke my 4s twice (without AppleCare). My 5c and 6s never had cases. I think I only bought one case each for my 7 and Xs.

I always buy AppleCare+. I had a problem with my Xs Max a few months back and with the Covid mess plus no open Apple stores, after working through all the troubleshooting, they sent me another Xs Max. I had it within two days. I shipped my old phone back at no cost to me.
