How many :apple:tv owners are watching YouTube?

I'm starting to see a handful of YT videos in full screen on my 42" plasma and they look pretty good. I'm wondering why a lot of my videos saved as Favorites in my YT account not showing up under Favorites in :apple:tv YouTube menu. Is it because they haven't been converted?

I'm watching a lot of youtube videos via my apple tv! Of course they look great! it is so much fun! The reason you don't see all of your favorite videos is indeed that they haven't been converted yet from flash with.H264 as you correctly supposed! Wait till October when all youtube videos will be available, then youtube on apple tv will rock......

So far I have watched some YouTube sparingly. It's a great feature and it's cool to use, but I'm not much of a YouTube person anyway. I can only see it getting better :)

I avoid YouTube and MySpace like the plague when online but I must admit YouTube on ATV is great when there is nothing on TV, and I agree with Exotic Fish that the linking feature is quite addictive. Half an hour can pass before you even realise it. Excellent when waiting for something to start on 'normal' TV. :D I am VERY happy with my ATV.

Hahaha...I too have avoided MySpace like the plague! I used YouTube years ago to share videos with my family back home but never really gone around watching stuff until :apple:tv. It's pretty entertaining from the couch as a time filler. I also agree with the linking feature. I've found amazing speed paintings from YouTube user "macpulenta" from linking. Freaking amazing stuff!

I'd watch youtube more on the :apple:TV if the search function worked properly. Also, most of the videos that I enjoy don't seem to have been converted yet. Any word on if your favorites will transfer over from the youtube website to the :apple:TV?

Quite honestly, I find the YouTube feature to be almost completely worthless at this point.

VERY little content has been converted. There are so many broad, popular search terms that yield no results, that's it's pretty much unusable, if you know what you want to see. If you prefer to go through the "most recent" and "most watched" stuff, it's probably fine.

I don't seem to be able to search by author, but it's hard to tell since content supplied by the authors I'm looking for hasn't been converted yet (grrrr).

I can't (or can't figure out how) to subscribe by author. I can FIND other content from the same author, but can't subscribe to it. My (Web-based) subscriptions don't show up on my AppleTV.

Since I don't have cable tv or over the air tv (I have the antenna, but I hate tv in general), my friends use the YouTube feature all the time when they come over. It's pretty fun, but I'd never use it myself.

That sums it up nicely. Apple really needs to iron out the wrinkles in the YouTube application. It really isn't usable in its current form. I'm hoping Apple hasn't abandoned its hobby. If Leopard has taken a back seat to the iPhone, where does that leave the diminutive :apple:TV? :(

i like the youtube features. its a nice diversion. i could watch babies laughing all day. and the SNL clips are good.

Subscriptions coming to :apple:TV (next update?) would be good- as it would seem that new videos are not all becoming available as soon as they are uploaded as you might expect.

I can't find anything from the BBC of worth through the search, although my (official I think) subscriptions are being updated on the regular site daily. Maybe new stuff will be 'turned on' for :apple:TV in monitored batches?

Guess I'll just have to watch the opera singing man on 'Britains got talent' a few more times...

p.s. The quality of some of the videos is amazing all things considered. Maybe we will get a Jobs channel soon.
