It's the holidays slowing things down. The last developer release of 11.2 was December 16. Hoping there is another beta next week. I'm hoping a release will fix an external monitor flickering problem on my M1 MBP.

Watch what you wish for. The 11.2 beta from Dec 16 is reportedly causing repeated OS KPs and reboots for more than a few beta testers/developers.

That is interesting. I haven't had any issues with it on my M1, but I wouldn't call myself a power user either.

You are a brave tech soul. There is no way I would put beta software on my M1, especially after the fiasco that 11.0 - 11.01 brought us, not to mention all the unanswered shut downs that won't restart. And calling Apple right now isn't much help at all.

I didn't run into the 11.0 problem, but I read about it. I had my own wonderful experience just before Christmas. I purchased a base M1 MBA for my son for Christmas. I decided to try it out to see if I wanted to buy one for myself. It had issue with my external monitor flickering so I d/l the latest beta to see if that would fix the issue. When it came time to box it up to give to my son I decided to wipe it and go back to a non-beta. OMG, you don't even want to know how much of a PITA it was. Gone are the days of holding CMD-Option-R or Shift-CMD-Option-R and just downloading a non-beta. I had to download the configurator software on my wife's MBP and go through the process similar to the 11.0 issue to recover. I hope Apple fixes that in the future, because as of right now it's a hot mess.

Do you think making it compatible with M1 is one of the reasons for the slow down?

I am enjoying 11.1, it works perfect on my 2015 MacBook Air, and runs circles around my 2019 dell i7 windows 10 laptop which is now sitting on the shelf as a spare machine now that I have an Apple laptop again.

What do you mean "slow down"? Why do you think it should already be out? It'll be out when it's ready.
I mean slowing down the software development process. One more new architecture to take care of, more time is needed comparing with only to deal with Intel based Mac.
