Why 18 days to ship iPad 3g?

Hello,

I ordered a 16gb Ipad 3g on the Apple site on June 6. Item is supposed to ship on the 21st of June and arrive on 24th of June. What's going on? I've heard of items shipping earlier than expected. Has this happened to you?

I ordered a 3g 64GB on 28-May with shipment dates : "Ship Jun 15; Delivers Jun 18.

Yesterday the status has changed to "Prepared for Shipment" so hopefully they will send it today(?). As it seems you can expect the shipment to be a few days earlier than the initial date.

I ordered mine last night

I placed my order for a Wifi/3G 64gb version and it lists June 24th.
Hopefully I can get it sooner then that.
