I'm registered on about 50 different forums and for whatever reason, there's only one that I cannot post or reply on. For that forum the reply window gets shaded gray and the cursor will not show up inside it so I can post.

I had the administrators register me with a different userID and it's the same thing, so evidently there's something going on with my mid-2011 MacBook Pro.

I've been all over the general setup and preferences and can't find a problem. Is there some other place to look where I may have accidentally restricted that particular forum somehow? Thanks.

first of I do not think that it is a problem with your MacBook Pro, it might be a software issue.
Have you tried accessing the forum from a different device? like a Windows machine, iPad or iPhone?
If you still have problems with you will have to contact the forum owners

I can post on that one forum with my iPhone and my wife's iPad - but not on my MacBook. Seems like a MacBook problem to me. Thanks.

Sounds like you're having issues in a discussion forum that is not MacRumors - is that true? I'd work with them, I'm not sure there's much we can do about it.

Correct - I just just hoping that I could have restricted that forum somehow without knowing it, and hopefully somebody could point me where to look. I can move around on the internet just fine but understanding the nuts and bolts how my laptop works is beyond me. I might have to take it in to the Apple store and see if they can help.

But since I can post or reply on that forum with my iPhone and wife's iPad, and not my MacBook - it seems my laptop is the issue.

Take a look at your DNS to another computer if they see the same thing! Then you can tell if it’s your Mac or your router!

All of a sudden that forum righted itself evidently because all is fine now. Still doesn't explain why I could post on my updated iPhone and not my MacBook where I'm still running Maverick.

But I'm not complaining - there were others that were having to continue to having to log in by others so I'm thinking it was a forum issue. Thanks.
