I'm not too sure what "this" is.
Is it that black area? Might have something to do with the recording that you are making at that time.
Does the black area go away if you try turning OFF the orientation lock?

Everything about the music app is hideous. The buttons are huge! They had the most classy and contemporary design on iOS 9 and they butchered it.

“This” means that red bar at the top. It’s very huge they should’ve just shrink the size of it so it not affect the UI.
