Why Apple will not and should not support Flash on iPad

I just came across this article which makes some great points about why apple does not support flash on an iDevice and why it should not in the future. And it comes from the mind of a full time flash developer.

I will be posting this link in many comment sections when iHaters complain about how bad apple are for excluding flash. The article is very well explained and there is also a video at the bottom. Definitely worth a read.

So he says Flash will never be supported on the iPad because it can't support the "on mouse over" feature. It's like saying that mobile devices will never be able to browse the web because their screens are too small.

I think its a very good point and a different explanation then the usual cpu and battery hogging. I just wrote this on another sites comment section to back up apple. I don't usually bother commenting much but i am just getting so fed up with with the bad mouthing. This is cribbed from the article not my original thoughts:

"I stand behind apple not using flash and when more tablets come out supporting flash hopefully the iHaters will see its not as great as they would have hoped. Firstly before i get into it, yes some things will be ok but a large majority will not. Think of the mouse-over problem with flash on a tablet, how is that done? Yes you can get around it with a re-design but thats a lot of time and effort and and only the smallest percentage of sites will bother. To explain further think of flash games, many need a mouse with a hover state to play them, or they are controlled with the keyboard (can't imagine that looking so good on screen at the same time). Flash websites with mouse-over navigation, how will tablets running Windows 7 handle that? And then think of flash video, maybe not a problem for all, but have you noticed that many in full-screen mode need a hover state to bring up the controls? So there it is, and thats without even having to talk about cpu hogging or battery draining.

If Air works well then cool i welcome it, but many sites currently using flash would barely be useable even if apple did allow it."

How many times has this stupid subject been discussed. There is only ONE reason Apple doesn't support flash. They don't want developers subverting the App store. It's that simple. Can we move on please. All that bs about battery life and "crashing" is just Apple propaganda.
