Why are film lengths not given in hours and minutes like everything else in this world?

Is it possible to change this in iTunes so that the movie lengths say things like 1hr44 instead of 104 minutes?

maybe because it costs more to print when you have to say:

1h 44 m

as opposed to

104 m

Keeping in mind here the printing is more a reference to ads placed in newspapers, on the art work for the dvd, etc as opposed to putting information online etc. It will also take up more space on the box, though admittedly some times it seems almost impossible to find the running time on the box anyway

My newspaper prints it in hours/minutes :-\

The only newspaper I have bought in the last few years was the final edition of the Rocky Mountain News, I don't even look for the movie times to check that :), just though that they might do something where less characters are possible.
