With such a markedshare, and many of these games not being technical impressive, I don't understand it.
These free games on the pc seems to be the future. It seems to be the way the marked is heading. PC gaming is not dying. It is changing. Away from buying retail games, and into downloading games, with advertisment and such.
Games like Battlefield Heroes are a proof of this. Games designed to be free. Another big one is Quake Live, which is a free game that apparently runs in a browser, which means it might be able to play on a mac, natively.
but just taking a look at the ever increasing about of online games; http://www.onrpg.com/boards/907.html and shooters; http://www.onrpg.com/boards/70.html that are free, it gives you an idea of how big this thing has become, and how much bigger it will get.
Bootcamp is really nice, but it is also a hassle. Many of these casual friendly games, for people who don't need to play a game for 10 hours a day with crysis quality graphics, these free games are great, as a part of the life culture that Apple seems to want to get. music, movies, photos... and hopefully also games at some point. at least the free ones. at least these casual ones.
