I just signed up for it a few days ago. I selected MANY artists I liked, then when going to sleep found a Sleeping playlist and give it a try. Now EVERYTHING recommended is similar to the Sleeping playlist and almost NOTHING else.

I went through some playlists of things I like and started to Love songs I like and started to "Suggest less like this" on MANY of the Sleeping/Ambiance like songs that keep showing up in my recommended, but it has almost 0 effect on what's recommended. I'd say almost 70-80% of what's recommended is STILL based on that one Sleep playlist I listened to ONCE.

At this point I wish I could fully wipe out all its recommendation system and start from scratch. Freaking YouTube Music is more accurate for me than this thing is. I really don't understand it.

I find it gets better over time, but also helps to be happy with the "LOVE" and "DISLIKE" features to steer it a bit. It will shift you around. I like variety, so it has learned - can't all be winners but it's pretty good now.

For example, I don't listen to much country - but do like Johnny Cash and Towns Van Zant - when I listened to them at first, it started to recommend 'new country' I smashed the dislike enough times on those types of tunes that it'll just recommend older stuff, along with the aray of techno stuff i listen to most.

I have tried Apple Music several times and the reason I ditch it every time is Music selection. Working from home I play music through my Echo which sits in the opposite corner to my desk playing at low levels for about 12 hours each day.

I have a specific music interest rather than specific artists so I just want it to understand my needs and play throughout the day.

Even giving it time and trying to steer it in the right direction I always end up with tracks that regularly fall out of my listening preferences.

I return to using Spotify, never looked back. Spotify selections are on point, every time. Whether it is through already available playlists or the daily/weekly 'made for you'. I know I can just play and everything is my 'style'.
