iPad Pro Why are the downloads so slow on the ipad?

Hello!
I have an iPad Pro 2020 (11" 128GB) and when I try to download a documentary or something else from Telegram (via app or via browser(safari or chrome)) the download is super super slow ☹️

Speed test 300/300Mbps

test - time to download 100MB:
ipad Pro: 27seconds (aprox 30Mbps)
iMac (late 2012 model, via wifi): 5 seconds (aprox 160Mbps)

I have tested on my iphone 11 and the time to download 100MB is also about 25seconds

This. Expanding upon it - an online speed test will give you an idea of possible transfer speeds from/to a particular server farm associated with the testing service. It will not guarantee similar speeds to other parts of the internet, which will vary as data has to hop about through the internet. There's no telling what bandwidth is available on the other side that you're communicating with either, or how they balance their loads etc. Just nature of the beast here.

I doubt that. As others have said, it is likely due to network limitations.

Muzzy996, right, totally agree. but nevertheless, testing the download of the same file using the same wifi network the ipad is five times slower.
Could it be because the writing speed on the ipad is slower for large files?
I think I have read some comment that the writing speed on a pendrive is much slower than on macs

The iPad Pro pretty much has NVMe-level performance as far as sequential writes. I'm inclined to think the server itself might be throttling the traffic if it sees mobile client.

It would probably be easier mimicking mobile on the desktop.

On local network, I've been able to download from a HTTP server running on a gigabit wired desktop to an iPad 7th gen and Air 3 at 25-40 MB/s (200-320 Mbps) so I highly doubt it's storage that's causing the bottleneck.

This is probably the reason!!

I have tried to download a 200MB file from icloud (I have not found a bigger one) and it took 10 seconds, therefore it would be 5 seconds for the 100MB that it already is similar to the download speed of the iMac.

It seems that we have already found the problem but I'm afraid there is no solution, what a shame
