installed betas on my phone and iPad.

surprised that iPad doesn't allow hiding of apps/screens. notice it doesn't have the app library, which personally I don't like but confused.

widgets on the home screen were already in ipados13 but don't seem to have the same freedom in terms of placing them on pages.

when you consider picture in picture was already on iPad, the new features on iPad are what, a tidier podcast app and admittedly a neat smaller call notification?

While I appreciate the new changes, I was hoping for much more. Maybe we will get a surprise or two upon final release. Otherwise, we will have to wait and wait. Apple can be so frustratingly slow with the incremental update mindset.

This would look crazy on the iPad given the large space between icons. It fits much better on the left side.

Listen on the podcasts that the Apple team made right after WWDC. They have explained all of this. They don't want to make the iPhone and iPad identical, they want the best experience for each device.

Yeah, there is other new stuff like Scribble, but in my opinion it is a mediocre update

Agree. I was hopeful when iPadOS 13 came out that they were really going to concentrate on eliminating a lot of limitations of the OS but there really is nothing aside from Scribble, which I will rarely use, that is included and it's falling behind iOS 14. Sadly, the hardware power in the iPads will continue to be limited by the OS.

Yeah the iPadOS was pretty neglected this year which leads to a lot of inconsistencies between the devices and how things work. The iPad doesn’t even have the translator app.

Honestly once ARM is available there will probably be some sort of unified OS- just my take.
