Who thought this was a good idea? Why? It makes no sense to have videos mixed up with photos.

Secondly, why are my icloud photos mixed in with the photos on the device? That's yucky. I want to know at a glance what is on the device and what isn't on the device. I don't understand why apple has to complicate things that were already simple and easy to use.

Thirdly, why is the videos app just for TV shows on the iPad.

I used to be able to put videos with this. Gee wiz. This is so bad. Don't start doing stuff like this if you aren't able to finish. The iOS updates to videos app could've totally waited until it was fully thought through. I mean geeesh. It's gross. I hear people complaining about AM update but that was actually a good update IMO.

Videos and Photos are actually painful to use.

iPhone is not dead simple. Why is it you need a PDF reader to browse network share and to watch videos?

  1. People tend to record videos with their iPhone camera. Logically like actual digital camera it will appear next the the other photo you token before. There is also a album just for videos. Nothing has changed, old flip phones do the same thing.
  2. The point of iCloud Photo Library is for people who take a lot of photos but want to save space and keep everything the same on all devices. It would make little to no sense that one would have to search through two apps to find a picture.
  3. You can also view Movies in the Videos app :D. This has always been the case for iOS. Really nothing much has changed in the Videos app.
All in all. Nothing has changed. The placement of everything is the same for all phones. Open Google Photos or iOS Photos and you will get both Photos and videos you took. Both Google Play Movies & TV and iOS Photos view Movies, TV Shows, and Music Videos.
Why you're blaming Apple for something that all smartphones do (in some cases even dumb phones) is beyond me.

Firstly, I didn't say there needed to be two apps to find a picture. You made that up yourself.

I just think I should be able to easily tell what is or isn't downloaded to a device. Something's I want on my device and others I don't. As it stands right now I don't know what's what.

Hmmm Maybe I just need to convert MP4 movies to .mov. I was not able to play a movie on the movies app earlier today and still can't.

You are trying to lecture me and you don't even know how the videos app works.

Try this app on your Mac:
http://www.iflicksapp.com/

It great for converting and tagging movies from other sources for iTunes syncing.

I know how to use the Videos app. The basic functionality of this app has not changed in years.
@stooovie have you the short and sweet explanation. I don't understand why you would lash out at me (maybe it was the way I worded things??)
Please read the iOS user guide if you have questions.
